2025 ARTIST STATEMENT
My current exploration navigates the complex and often unsettling intersection of sociology, technology, and nature. There is a subtle and sometime not so subtle underflow of spirituality, grappling with the evolving social contract in our increasingly digital age.
The focus of this work centers on the pervasive nature of surveillance, data collection, and the erosion of privacy in a contemporary society. I examine how the ubiquitous presence of cameras, constant recording, and the accumulation of public data have profoundly affected not only our social interactions but also the very fabric of our individual inner lives.

This investigation isn't simply a contemporary concern; it’s the latest iteration of a long-standing human struggle between the individual and the collective. My practice employs mixed media, exploring a layering of images, data visualizations, and perhaps even juxtaposing organic forms against the cold, hard data of surveillance systems—to create a visual language that reflects this tension. This approach aims not just to depict the problem but to dissect it, revealing its constituent parts and provoking conversation about the surveillance of today and the implications for tomorrow.
My process begins with rigorous research, delving into the various fields of technology, law, and human behavior surrounding surveillance. This intellectual rigor informs the visceral experience I strive to create for the viewer—a palpable sense of unease, a reminder of the price we pay for convenience and security. It's not merely about the cameras themselves, but the feeling of being constantly observed, the subtle but profound erosion of private space. My work seeks to make visible the invisible, to explore the tension between the known and the unknown, and to create a chilling, necessary dialogue about the increasingly transparent lives we lead.
